Why Boren really left UM: Barwis!

Not to beat a dead horse here but read on to see what the Michigan players will go through this summer...The Tornado! This is why Mr Soft, lazy Boren left for OSU...Coach Barwis and his conditioning program.

Mention the summer at hand, and he'll make grown men cheer, cry and … well, revisit in convulsing fashion any clandestine Krispy Kreme encounters.

"I always tell them, 'The tornado's coming,'" he says of Michigan's summer conditioning program. "Bottom line is, we're going to go harder than we went in the winter, no question. The summer is the most difficult time when it comes to training and development.

"We're trying to prepare for a game that is not a soft game. It's a contact sport, it's a physical game, it has a lot of physical demands, and we want to be ready for them. We will be more ready than anybody in the country when the time comes. That's the key.

"We want to have the best-conditioned, most physical team in the United States of America. And it takes punishment and pain to get there. That's going to happen.

Those grapes certainly aren't sweet in Ann Arbor, are they?

Glad they're going to work harder so as not to lose to App. State...

I wouldn't go through the tornado either, if it just meant losing to start and finish every season.

If UM was smart they would run those fat hogs they call cheerleaders through the Tornado. Ice cream isn't your daddy's love girls.

So just to clarify, accepting a commitment from a player who has given a verbal commitment to another school in the conference is immoral and heinous, but accepting a transfer (as in, signed and played) from another school within the conference is beyond reproach?

Those who have stayed have not been Champions.

The last time um beat The Ohio State University, gas cost $1.34/gallon.

Art-No kidding..should I start pulling up inflationary comparisons when Michigan was 9-1-1 against OSU? Didn't think so.

Boren left UM because he couldn't hack the conditioning. I hope that Columbus is happy to have a quitter like this on their squad.

Barwis will be great for the UM program! It might take a year or two to see the full impact.
