BBQ at the Big House

From what I'm hearing we had a very good showing this weekend at Michigan's 2nd Annual BBQ at the Big House. We can expect a couple verbal commitments to come from this event in the next couple weeks from a couple defensive players.

The name of the game at this stage should be defense because we need a more depth and many positions, especially the new hybrid LB position. There is a huge list of players that arrived from as far away as FL and they've made the trip because they truly have interest in playing for Michigan. There's a list of these players and you'll hear about them as they commit but what concerns me-key players who are from the St of Michigan that didn't make this event?

The top player in the St of Michigan, William Gholston-Detroit Southeastern, wasn't at the BBQ? Gholston, for whatever reason is showing minimal interest in Michigan and is probably leaning towards MSU before UM. I think our staff ought to really place more pressure on Gholston so he knows how much we need this him. In addition, the players I list below were also no-shows for the event and they're also highly rated players in the St of Michigan.

Jon Hankins-Det. Southeastern-DT
Mylan Hicks-Det. Renaissance-CB
C.J. Olaniyan -Warren,Mott High-DE

I'm not trying to focus on the negative here because as I said, the BBQ was very successful and you'll read more about it in Freep and Detnews. I'm just trying to raise one concern and its obviously centering around our in state recruiting success.
