Its nice that OSU followers are so into this "days since Michigan has beaten OSU." I also think its funny how short their memories really are. Let me start by reminding the OSU faithful that starting in November of 1987 through November of 1994 OSU never beat Michigan either. How many days was this streak you ask? Well, it was 2920 days. Now, there was a tie in there somewhere but you get my point. This rivalry has gone this way, and that way, for over a 100 years but in the end you need to look at what team has dominated the rivalry.
Michigan leads the series now with 57 Wins, 42 Losses and 6 ties. This goes back to 1897 so its a nice snap shot of what football program really has dominated. Please OSU fans don't fire back with, "games in 1908 or whatever year didn't count." I don't think you like Michigan folks to say that your 5 straight wins over Michigan didn't count a 100 years from now would you?
The truth is, this is a rivalry that will keep shifting its momentum back and forth but ultimately we'd like to see it go back to a more balanced rivalry.
As for more history regarding this rivalry here is more info from Dr Saturday below:
As usual, though, Wolverine fans can appeal to history: 8,043 days elapsed between the teams' first meeting in 1897 and the Buckeyes' first win in the series, in 1919, a span that included an 86-0 Michigan victory in Ann Arbor in 1902. In the Big Ten era, Michigan also won six straight from 1922-27, a number OSU can finally match this year. But by the time that game kicks off on Nov. 21, the Wolverines' 2,191-day cold streak will be by far the longest in the rivalry since before the Great Depression.
